After you enter into the Peak Flown From Afar, you will feel that it is cool. And when standing by the stream, you can sense the wind blowing, and it is much more comfortable than that of outside the scenic area. It is really a treasure. The entire Peak Flown From Afar scenic spot includes Peak Flown From Afar’s Buddha statue group, Yongfu Temple, and Taoguang Temple, which are three main landscapes. The water in Qiandao Lake is very clear. Thousand Islets Lake, also called the Xin’anjiang Reservoir, is located in Chun’an County, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is connected to the northwest of Jiande City in Hangzhou. It was built in 1955 and completed in 1960, it is an artificial lake built to hold back the upper reaches of the Xin’an river for the construction of the Xin’an hydropower station. The reservoir dam is 105 meters high and 462 meters long. The reservoir is about 150 kilometers long and has a maximum width of more than 10 kilometers. The deepest point is more than 100 meters, and the average water depth is 30.44 meters. Under normal water level, the area is about 580 square kilometers. The water storage capacity can reach 17.8 billion cubic meters. At the highest water level, there are 1078 land bridge islands which is more than 0.25 square kilometers, and the islands mainly are less than 2 square kilometers. The island area is 409 square kilometers. Thousand Island Lake water ranks top in the Great Lakes of China in the Great Lakes. It is a national first-class water body and has reached the drinking water standard without any treatment. It is known as “The finest water in the world”. On December 15, 1984, the Zhejiang Geographical Names Committee officially named Xin’anjiang Reservoir as “Thousand Islets Lake”.
The Mountain Putuo has a diamond shape. When you stand at the highest peak of Mount Putuo, you will feel that the top of the Buddha is surrounded by the mountains, and the vast sea is like a sea of clouds. Many small islands around it are like its decoration under the Putuo Mountain. The Buddhism in Putuo Mountain has a long history, and it was first created in the Tang Dynasty as the Guanyin Dojo. In the past, the traffic was inconvenient and climbing the island must be very difficult. The clean environment on the island is very suitable for self-cultivation, and the Buddhist disciples will experience hardships. It is suspected that they can learn from the scriptures in the West. This may be the highest realm which is pursued by the Dharma.
On the 19th February, 19th June, and 19th November of the lunar calendar, it is the Guanyin Bodhisattva’s birthday, the monk’s birth, and the three major incense sessions all over the mountain. The temple during these periods are full of people, just arrange your time well when you make a trip to Mountain Putuo.
The Hulishan Fortress Scenic Area in Xiamen is a national cultural relics protection unit and a national AAAA-level tourist scenic spot. It was built in the 20th year of Guangxu Emperor in Qing Dynasty, with a total area of over 70,000 square meters and a castle area of 13,000 square meters. It is divided into the war plateau area and the barracks area and the back-mountain area. The structures of the fort include semi-bunker and semi-urban style, combining with European style and architectural charm in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in China. The Hulishan Fort is a product of the Chinese Westernization Movement.
The Water Curtain Cave in the Wuyi Mountains is one of the 72 caves in Wuyi Mountain which is located in the north of Zhangtang Temple. After entering the scenic spot, you will see there is a small waterfall that plunges down from the top of Xiabin Rock. It is called the small Water Curtain Cave. The top of the cave is covered with dangerous rock, and the cave is deep inside the converging rock waist. The entrance to a cave is wide and oblique, and the top of the cave is cool and shaded. The two flying springs pours from the sloping top of the rock, floating in the mountains, which looks like two bead curtains, hanging from the sky to the human world, so it is also known as the Bead Curtain Cave in the Wuyi Mountain.
Huxiaoyan Scenic Area in Wuyi Mountain covers an area of 17 square kilometers. The main scenic spots include One Line Sky, Pavilion Rock, Lingxiao Peak, Shimen Rock and Huxiao Rock. It is one of the best places in Wuyi Mountain that has special springs. The so-called “Huxiao” is an allusion to the immortal who once rode the tiger on the rock. In fact, the sound of “Huxiao” came from a huge hole in the rock. When the mountain wind passed through the hole, it screamed and shook the empty valley and shocked the mountains. Here is also the other explanation for it: There is a huge hole in the Huxiao Rock, and when the mountain wind passes over the hole, the hole will sound like a tiger. When the sound is small, it is not obvious to hear, but when the sound is bright, it can be a shock to the Wuyi mountains, which is creepy.
South Putuo Temple is located on the edge of Xiamen University, so you can spend the same day playing with Xiamen University. It is a Buddhist temple which is famous in southern Fujian and even the whole country. If you are ready to pray, you may wish to come here to worship. In the back of the temple, it is the Five Old Men Peak, which is also one of the eight scenic spots in Xiamen. If you want to visit the mountain, you can also climb the mountain.
Shanghai Zoo used to be called Xijiao Zoo. It is the old zoo in Shanghai. It is not as big as the Shanghai Wild Animal Park. Adults even will feel very tired when they play in the Shanghai Wild Animal Park. The Shanghai Zoo is medium in size and it is very cost effective and worth a visit! The only downside is that there are too few parking spaces, so you need to find a parking space nearby, and it will cost 50 yuan for half a day to parking. However, the traffic is really convenient now. When you take the high-speed train, you can get off at Shanghai Hongqiao station, and transfer to Metro Line 10, and take three-stop stations to the Shanghai Zoo. Next to the subway exit it is the entrance to the zoo.
